Religious Education Program Across the School

The teaching and learning of the Religious Education program at St Raphael is informed by and emerges from contemporary and effective practice. This includes play-based learning and a child-centred program. This approach alongside formal teaching of religion is important for the individual's faith formation. Effective faith formation requires an organised and intentional approach, a reflective process that focuses on individual spiritual growth and takes into account the entry levels of an individual's knowledge, experience and personal appropriation of Christian tradition, culture and religious practices. Guided by the Religious Education Framework, teachers plan outcome-based inquiry activities. At St Raphael, children engage in a curriculum that is Christ-centred and one that invites a deeper faith relationship with God, Church, Self, others and creation. It is reflective, prayerful and open to dialogue. This term the children across the levels are exploring the topic of "Prayer" and what it means to work together for the "Common Good" of all people. As we move into the month of March children will focus on the 'Lenten Season' and engage in level and whole school liturgy.

Sacrament of Confirmation

RE: Parent/Child Confirmation Information Evening- Thursday 24th February at 6.30 pm (online)

We ask that at least one parent be present with their child at this Thursday's  Parent/Child Confirmation Information Evening. The session will begin at 6.30 pm and conclude by 7.30 pm. 

The session aims to provide parents with the opportunity to engage with their child in workshops and by reflecting, conversing and sharing experiences related to the Sacrament of Confirmation. 

The session will also inform families of the logistical matters related to the celebration.
