JSC Captains serve for the year, and the JSC Vice Captains represent their class for Semester 1.
Being chosen as a JSC Captain and Vice Captain is an honour. A Junior School Councillor represents their class by attending regular meetings (weekly or fortnightly), depending on the school's needs at the time. Meetings are held at lunch time, commencing at lunch eating time at 1.30pm. At JSC meetings ideas to better our school, local and global communities are shared. It is the role of a Councillor to consider all of their class member's needs and suggestions and to be the voice for them. This year our School Captains will also be involved in preparing the agenda and co-convening the JSC meetings alongside the JSC Coordinators, Maria Capsalis, Nikki Olsen and Aubrey Hudson.
GRIP Student Leadership Conference
Our School Captains and JSC Captains will attend the GRIP Student Leadership Conference on Thursday 24 March.
The conference concentrates specifically on training student leaders for their role as school leaders. The goal is that student leaders leave the conference with a clear vision, a solid understanding and dozens of ideas for their time as a leader.
