Primary Sub School News

Primary students have enjoyed being outdoors and enjoying some beautiful weather. Some students like to take a favourite toy outside, which can help students feel more comfortable moving to the playground. There are always ball games happening, with poison ball being one of the favourites at the moment. We have some great climbing equipment under big sails in our playground that is a great space to sit and relax.
Our school library is a peaceful space for students to have some quiet time to enjoy browsing books independently, with a friend or have a staff member read to them. Our classrooms have the opportunity to visit the library each week, and it’s an activity that students really look forward to. Our library has a wide range of picture storybooks, big books, and even toys and puppets to match the stories.
Room 1
Room 1 Preps have settled in well and had a wonderful start to Term 1! They have been busy exploring the classroom and getting to know each other. In week 1, Room 1 Preps have been playing with their favourite toys, going outside the play area, learning the JSA values and classroom routine. They enjoyed their first trip to the JSA garden where they watered the plants!
In week 2, the Preps have been learning about letters, numbers and shapes. They enjoyed different hands-on activities such as games on the interactive whiteboard, counting songs, tracing, colouring-in and sensory play. In our Kitchen lesson last week, they enjoyed making their sandwich! It has been a busy and fun start with the Preps and Room 1 staff looking forward to more enjoyable learning activities together!
