Capital Works Planning

We are getting close to finalising the tender documentation and repairs around the school.  The cost plan by the Quantity Surveyor has put us over budget, however, we are working to withdraw fewer essential items so we can be under budget. We are still due to go out to tender in early March.

Facilities Manager Update

Works and upgrades to the grounds are being planned for Term 1 holidays. I am currently working to finalise our School Maintenance Plan for approval and submission to VSBA.

The school is waiting for the VSBA to appoint a Project Manager for the Planned Maintenance Works funded by DET before the works can commence.

Some classroom furniture has arrived but other items have been delayed due to shortages of materials.

Water monitors have been installed on the Landy Rd water meters by SWEP (Schools Water Efficiency Program) that will enable the school to monitor the water usage on the site. It provides a portal for staff & students to monitor water usage, calculate how much we use & how we compare to other schools. It will send email reports of excessive usage to me to alert me of any potential issues with leaks or open taps on or under school grounds.

I am consulting with Melissa Do (Urban Diversity Officer at Hume City Council) to plan and potentially supply seedlings for planting in the upgrade to the front of the school carpark and garden that will reflect and complement the indigenous planting planned for the landscaping after the Capital Works Program has been completed.
