Archibald Prize

To keep up the ritual of the Beaumaris North Archibald Prize, we were lucky to have supporting artist , ‘Geoff La Gerche’ came to visit  the year 6’s portraits on Tuesday.

In the past, students have been lucky enough to have Geoff La Gerche help assist them with their portraits and the use of the grid technique. Unfortunately due to COVID this was unable to be done in person this year.

Geoff was however able to help judge the exhibition and stated that this is by far the hardest year to decide on a winner as so many of the works are of such a high standard.

This photo of Geoff was recently taken at Geelong Gallery where the Archie 100 is being exhibited. This is Geoff in front of his finalist portrait.

Geoff  was impressed by the works produced.
