The BNPS Team

Beaumaris North Primary School Staff

My sincere thanks to every member of our school staff for their ongoing commitment to every aspect of the education of our students throughout the year.

As a staff we have met in person only once since March this year and we all eagerly await the time when we can again come together in the staffroom, to  not only plan our school programs but also to celebrate the many special events including birthdays, engagements, weddings and special events of our staff.  Online communication is productive but there is nothing more effective than just being together in person.

Words cannot express my sincere appreciation and gratitude and respect for the entire Beaumaris North team.

The teaching staff have not only managed their online teaching of our students but in many cases have also had to manage the online teaching of their own children.

One thing that has been clearly evident with our achievements this year, has been the power of a team.  Our school is based on the team approach and that of a distributive leadership model. Every member of our staff belongs to a team and as a result everyone has a buddy, a mentor and an instructional leader.

Teaching Team

Our teaching teams are extremely professional and dedicated people, who at all times, have the welfare of the students as their one main priority. The ease at which our students have pivoted from onsite to remote and then back to onsite learning, is an indication as to how safe our students feel in the care of their teachers.

An example of the total dedication of our staff can be exemplified by the fact that when faced with the option of reducing the required reporting feedback to parents, the staff unanimously decided to not opt for the reduced department reporting requirements in preference to providing families with a detailed student report.

Many teachers have had to cancel planned leave throughout 2020 and 2021 and I do hope that plans for the coming school holidays occur as planned as everyone needs a break desperately.

Administrative Team

I would like to thank Sue Miles, Nicole Rainsbury, Annie Staley and Kerryn Meredith who have managed our school.

The admin team worked onsite throughout the remote learning period to ensure that they were available to support our families on a daily basis.

Our office is usually the first point of contact for both existing and new families and at all times families are greeted by a smile and a totally welcoming approach.

I would like to thank this team for not only managing all of the required department compliance aspects but for also managing our COVID safe plan and the additional tasks required as a result of COVID. Your ongoing passion for the good of our school is to be applauded by everyone.

Leadership Team

Our school is not led by one person but by a team of committed, passionate and professional leaders.  The Leadership Team demonstrate the true meaning of ” team”  and exhibit  the distributive leadership model  in an ongoing and dedicated manner.

I would like to sincerely thank my three Assistant Principals, Mr Brent Plowright, Mrs Debbie Murnane and Mrs Joanne Taylor for supporting me totally throughout the year.

Outside School Hours Care (OSHC)

Kelly Szabo has led our Outside School Hours Care Program throughout the school year.  Kelly and her staff also managed the Onsite Care and Supervision Program throughout the remote learning period.  We greatly appreciated this ongoing support during these weeks as it enabled our teaching staff to focus on the online learning for their class.

The OSHC staff are to be commended for their professionalism and care shown to our students and their families at all times.

School Council

I would like to thank all members of our school Council.  Unfortunately, we only managed one meeting onsite this year but it was extremely reassuring to know that I could contact any councillor by phone at any time if required.
