To finish off our learning we have been learning about plurals. When there are more than one of something we have been adding an ‘s’ to show multiple. We have also been looking at the different hints in our language that tell us if there is one of something or lots. For example: some, are and is, are all clues!
Over the holidays you will still have access to PMs online. The link for this is: https://app.pmecollection.com.au/login and you can use the same login details that were shared with you during online learning. The Summer holidays are always a tricky time for children, where they find without practice, some skills are lost. By having your child read everyday (or whenever you can) you can help ensure a smoother transition to Year 1, with no reading development lost.
Last week we were learning about Mass, comparing heavy and light weights. This week we are finishing up with learning about patterns. Of course we are involving as many Christmas themes in our patterns as possible!
Our favourite time of the year is near - awaiting the birth of Jesus. We have been preparing by reenacting the story with characters that we have made ourselves!
We have been learning about materials in Science this term. Last week we created houses for the Three Little Pigs to stand up against the Big Bad Wolf (our fan), and tested them to see how we went. Our takeaway from our experiment is that we probably need to include walls in our houses to allow them to stand of fall!
Last Friday, Kindergarten made some traps to trap any elves sneaking around the house. We investigated what kind of materials would be best to use when catching an elf, and had lots of bright colours and tricky signs!
We have had such an incredible year teaching your children. Thank you all for your support in your child’s education. We hope you all have a safe and merry Christmas and wish you all the best for entering Year 1 in 2022.
