Library

Welcome to another year in the library, we have already had some rather fun stuff happen here. On Valentine's Day we had the annual Blind Date With a Book during lunch. There was candlelight, flowers and mystery books to borrow. It was a huge success. The students were super excited to take a chance in the land of stories and we hopefully now have made some perfect matches between readers and their new book.

The year 7 students had their library inductions over the past fortnight. This was a lesson on how to behave in the library and also how to use the library software. I must say that I was utterly impressed by their readership levels, behaviour and fervour. They are a wonderful bunch and I cannot wait to see them all grow into literary greats over the coming six years.

With a new year comes a new round of Library Trivia Master. The first one will begin in the library at the beginning of March. Will you be the next 2022 Master? Solve the clues, win the prize.

Towards the middle of the year we will begin our annual Book Bingo fundraiser event to raise money for our beautiful library. It is so important to continue building the book collection and fundraisers such as this one really help this librarian buy the books that the students are craving. Last year we raised enough funds to purchase a family size therapy pod, on top of the book purchases, which has been a very popular and much appreciated addition to our library by both students and staff.

Last but not least, this is a callout to anyone who would like to donate books to the library, whether it be from your own collection or purchasing a book you would love to see on our shelves. A bookplate with your family name will be placed inside the book to thank you for your generosity. We are also in the market for some library reading chairs if anybody knows of someone who has one that they would care to donate. If interested please email the library with some images.

Well that’s it for now. Keep on reading!

Laptop Charging

Laptop charging is at Librarian Island at lunchtime and recess, so if you need a charge please come and pick a colour and we'll be happy to help.
