Microcredentials Week

In the last week of 2021 students participated in Micro-credentials week, where they had an opportunity to participate in a variety of skill-based programs. Some of our most popular activities were first aid, self-defense, making gingerbread houses, screen printing, pottery, photography, sushi making and bike maintenance. There was great participation in all events and students gained valuable life skills throughout the week. If students upskilled in an interest area of their choice during this week they should send evidence of their achievement to Ms Cain.

I really enjoyed Micro-credentials Week. I got to learn lots of new skills, but my favourite was Sushi and Origami making. We learnt lots about Japanese culture and got to eat some yummy sushi.

Micro-credentials Week was so fun, I enjoyed every bit of it! In pottery we got to create a clay skull and then paint and design the outside of it which was very fun and interesting. In gingerbread house making we got to bake the gingerbread, design the house with lollies and then assemble the house together I enjoyed this so much and all the houses looked amazing! Overall Micro-credentials Week was awesome!

I really enjoyed the first aid course that I took during Micro-credentials Week. The first aid course ran for a full day and within it we learnt about how to preform CPR on adults, children and babies, how to use a defibrillator, the symptoms of strokes, heart attacks, allergic reactions etc., how to use EpiPens and much more! We had a fantastic instructor that educated us whilst having fun. I learnt so much and will now know what to do in an emergency situation. I gained life skills and learnt new things and am very happy I took the course.

The Micro-credentials Week is a fantastic experience for us as students to gain experience that we can use later in life, as well as being filled with super fun and engaging activities such as cooking, bike maintenance, hair styling, writing workshops, and much more! I for one have truly enjoyed my experiences with it.
