Face Masks

Please remind your child to bring a mask to school and to have spare masks in their bag in case they misplace or tear/break their mask. The school only has limited supplies of replacement masks for students. Thank you for your understanding.

We know that the wearing of a mask in the pandemic protects the people around us even more than it protects us.

Wearing a mask is another way of showing the respect and care you have for the people around you.

It is understandable that masks will sometimes slip and it is understandable that you may need to be reminded from time to time to fit your mask properly.

However, now that we have all had the week to refamiliarize ourselves with the expectations for mask wearing, we are going to step up the response to students who need to be repeatedly reminded.

The government guidance to schools on the wearing of masks is that schools should manage this in the same way that we manage wearing uniforms.

Students have been advised that if teachers need to repeatedly or regularly remind them to fit their mask properly, or if students don't cooperate respectfully, then teachers will record uniform indiscretions on Compass Chronicle.

We want to thank and acknowledge most students who are taking care of the people around them by wearing their masks properly. And we ask those who need to pay greater attention to getting this right, to please do so.

If students have a mask exemption, we ask parents to please make sure this has been communicated to the school.
