Well, the new school year is in full swing, and it is fantastic to see the students back on campus, eager and full of enthusiasm.
Over the last fortnight, we held a series of Information Nights for our Primary and Secondary School Parents. Previously these nights were held on campus, which allowed parents the opportunity to gather socially; unfortunately this year, they had to be moved online. We were extremely pleased to see many parents join us for the sessions. Such numbers are a strong indicator of parental engagement in their child’s schooling. Research tells us that parental engagement such as this is integral to student success at school. The feedback has been positive about the content provided by the various teaching staff. Please contact your child’s teacher/Head of Year if you missed the session.
Congratulations to the Class of 2021, who have achieved academic excellence in an extraordinary year. The entire cohort has worked with diligence and commitment, and we are incredibly proud of their achievements.
Over the next few months, we will continue to share and celebrate the 2021 cohorts results and the pathway they have chosen for 2022. Understanding depth and breadth of what is offered at Clayfield and where this can lead is such an important part of the learning journey at the College.
Upon graduating from Clayfield College, the overwhelming majority of graduates are undertaking tertiary study at Australian and international universities in 2022. Reflecting our life-wide approach to learning, a smaller number of students choose to defer their studies and take part in organised exchanges, employment opportunities or volunteer work.
For the students who have chosen to continue studying, we were pleased to see that 82% received their first QTAC preference. The number of students who received an early offer to a tertiary institute continues to grow, as does the number of students who are offered scholarships.
As we celebrate the fantastic work of the 2021 cohort who gained excellent ATAR results, what makes them all the more impressive, is that they have been achieved by students who have kept a healthy balance of academic and co-curricular endeavours. The focus on academic excellence and character development continues to produce confident, well-rounded young women who are fully equipped for life beyond the College gates.
Finally, there are several important activities in the coming weeks to highlight for you.
