MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS

Multicultural Festival

What a great sight it was having our famous Multicultural Festival back after two years of cancellations due to COVID. The day was perfect and everyone involved, from both the College community and the wider public, seemed to enjoy themselves immensely. I would like to congratulate the students from the Middle Sub School for their positive contributions to the day, which took many shapes such as displaying exemplary behaviour, running and supporting stalls, performing and speaking on stage, playing in, or cheering on, the classic staff vs students football match, greeting and helping out visiting Primary School students and much more. Well done to you all.

Year 10 Camp

Next week our Year 10 Camp to Aireys Inlet will embark. Activities students are looking forward to are mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, ropes courses and much more. Permissions for this camp are closed and those attending are reminded that medical forms are a condition of attendance and should be returned to the Sub School by now. If they have not been returned, speak to a relevant staff member as soon as possible. We hope all involved have a great trip and I will report back with pictures in the next newsletter.

Exams

Exams for Years 7-10 will run in Week 8 of this term except for Year 10 English which is timetabled for Friday of Week 7 (18 November). This time very quickly approaches us every year and now is the time for students to start their preparations. In the next three weeks students should ensure that they have successfully completed all their expected course work and start revising relevant knowledge as soon as possible. Regular small revision is far more effective than large last-minute cramming. Always remember that your teachers are there to help so if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak with them.

SWPBS

As I mentioned earlier regarding the Multicultural Festival, our middle sub school students have been displaying exceptional positive attitudes which has also been reflected throughout their everyday conduct in class and the wider school community since the start of term 4. As always, this does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Below is a list of those students who have been acknowledged for their positive contributions at school more than once via a green entry on Compass and who should be congratulated for their efforts.
