School Philosophy

We strive to develop adaptability and resilience so students can become valued members of the local and global communities and be prepared for future life experiences.

From the Acting Principal

Hello, everyone! Welcome to another newsletter.

We had an amazing circus show last week; thank you to everyone who came along and joined in the fun. What a fabulous night we had! We are so proud of the students for their work, persistence, and the resilience they displayed, not only on the night but also in the learning of the skills over the weeks of lessons. It was also brilliant to see them enjoying themselves and having so much fun on the stage. Thank you also to our amazing staff, led by Mrs. Lichtenauer, who put so much time and effort into the night.

Thank you also to our team of parents who organised and volunteered to sort and allocate sushi for our Sushi Day lunch last Friday; we really appreciate the time and effort taken. We hope to have more fun lunches soon, but now all of our attention is being given to the Trivia Night on November 26. We cannot wait!

Our first Year Six camp group is up in Canberra this week and they are having lots of fun exploring all the planned attractions. We even got mentioned in Parliament, by our local member in her speech. Next week, our second group goes for their turn. Given the postponement of the camp from Term One, the campers have had to (and will) leave on Sunday and come back Thursday. I would like to take the opportunity to thank the flexibility of teachers, parents, and families in accommodating these changes to ensure our students get to experience the fun and excitement of a camp in Canberra.

Assemblies are also once again open to all of our community to attend. We had our first parents back last week and it was fabulous to, once again, have our community together, especially to celebrate our principal awards. If you have the time, assembly starts at 2:45pm on Fridays in the Wicking Centre.

Our Orchard Grove crossing supervisor has also been in touch again, asking me to remind the community of our need to observe the road rules around our crossings. We need to maintain the speed limit, and also use the crossing to cross and wait for the crossing signals before we do so. We all want our students to stay safe on their way to and from school, so it would be much appreciated if we could please respect the supervisors and their roles.

Thanks everyone

Cheers

Michelle
