Mrs Bronwyn Underwood
Dear Parents and Carers,
Today, our school leaders, Harper Ryman, Jock McNeill and Charlie McNeill represented St Michael's at the annual Remembrance Day ceremony hosted by the Manilla RSL Sub Branch. Our students laid wreaths on behalf of the school and our P&F Association. Back at school, our students and staff participated in a Liturgy in the 5/6 classroom to commemorate this important event in Australia's history.
On Thursday, St Michael's Playgroup hosted a very successful morning tea with guests in attendance from Tamworth Family Support Services and HealthWISE. Alli, the Child and Family Health Nurse based in Manilla was also on hand to answer any questions that people had, regarding perinatal health. It was wonderful to have so many in attendance, chatting and enjoying each other's company. Our Playgroup for 2022, will continue until Thursday December 8 and will conclude for the year with a Christmas Party on that day. Everyone is welcome to attend. Thankyou to staff member Renae Catlett for her fantastic work in this important area of early learning.
At our staff meeting this week, we began to analyse the results from the Survey My School Survey that was completed by staff, students and parents in September. Over the coming weeks, staff will continue to work through the comments and collate the responses. Information from the surveys will be helpful in assisting to formulate our Annual Improvement Plan for 2023, which we hope to share with you before the end of the 2022 school year.
This week we have partnered with the Tamworth Regional Conservatorium of Music to offer private music tuition to the students at St Michael's, whose parents would like to take advantage of this opportunity. This will save the drive to Tamworth and the children will be exposed to the same expert tuition they would receive at the Conservatorium in Tamworth. There is a cost involved and instruments can be hired if needed.
Ms Jacqueline Cronin commences Long Service Leave today, until the end of the year. Jacqueline will be replaced in her Religious Education Coordinator role by Ms Emma Martin until the end of the year. We wish Jacqueline all the best for a restful break and we look forward to working with her again in 2023.
Warm Regards,
Bronwyn
