Mr Butts' Announcements

Confirmation

Last weekend we celebrated the sacrament of Confirmation. It was wonderful to see families gathering together for the children on this very special day.  It was also great to see some of our ex students back with us! Thank you to Mrs Hick's for preparing the children and the masses.  The final Confirmation Mass is this Saturday night.

Freaky Disco

The kids had a fantastic time Friday night at the Freaky Friday disco!  Thank you to the P&F for organising this event and the parents who volunteered to assist.  The children absolutely love the discos and they are very grateful for those who organise it.

Parental Engagement

I am also very thankful to our parent community who organise  events such as the disco with minimal teacher involvement.  Many of you would have read in the media about the unpaid hours of work that teachers take part in.  Every week we have teachers attending various meetings and representing the school in parish and community groups. And that's not to mention extras such as parent teacher interviews, excursions and camps.  Not giving our teachers more out of school commitments, assists us with attracting and retaining the quality teachers that we have at St Mary's.  Thank You!

Remembrance Day

The school will pause on Friday for a Remembrance Day service. The FIRE Carriers will also be attending the local service at the cenotaph and lay a wreath on behalf of the school.

Art Work

I love seeing the wonderful work that our students create in the art room with Mrs Wilson.  Lucas, Ruby and Zach completed some very impressive sewing pictures today.

Mr Butts' Jokes!

A girl came out of the library with book 1m wide and I asked her how come it was so big? She said "It's a long story!"

I was talking to a weasel at the supermarket the other day and I asked it what does it call it's grandfather? "Pop" goes the weasel.
