Principal's message

Dear Parents/Carers,

SWIMMING

Well done to Cherine Owen on organising an excellent swimming program. We had our last day this week but we know that there was marked improvement shown in water safety and stroke technique across the past 5 weeks. At school we give the students an opportunity to practice swimming and to participate in water safety programs but we would urge all families to continue lessons where possible so that your children are confident around water. Giving students confidence around water is one of the very best gifts we can give them.

CLASS GROUPINGS 2023

Over the past three weeks parents have had the opportunity to provide feedback regarding class groupings for next year. We have now closed that process and teachers are busy with class placements for the 2023 school year. Thank-you for your input. It is important to know that teachers will endeavour to accede to your wishes where possible but that it’s not an exact science and some compromises may be made.

STAFFING

We welcome Jane Martin to Warrnambool Primary School in 2023 as part of our administration team. Jane comes with much experience as a school administrator after working at Brauer College for several years.

WET WEATHER

We just endured the wettest October in Warrnambool on record. In fact, this October just past, was the fourth wettest month ever according to records. November hasn’t started much better but we know that there is some sun forecast for next week. It’s important that we understand children have spent much of the term inside and we know this is difficult for them. We get them outside for fresh air when possible but it can be frustrating. We also must be grateful that the flooding which has occurred in the Northern parts of the state have largely escaped us. We know that there are many people in a worse position. We are definitely looking forward to sunny days ahead.
