Graduation

The end of the year is approaching quickly and our Year 12s finish their exam period on Monday 21st November. This will also be the night of the Year 12 Graduation; a celebration of the end of their schooling and the start of the next phase in their lives. While ‘schoolies’ week has been limited over the last few years, if your child is going to be involved, it is important that you discuss plans with them that will help keep them, and their friends, safe. It is also a good opportunity to remind them that while they are on holiday and celebrating, the people and places in the communities where they are celebrating need to be respected and looked after.

Advantage Program

That week also sees the Advantage Program begin for our current Year 10 and 11 students. This program is a combination of end of semester exams, preparation for the next years’ classes and a range of other sessions which may include study skills, health information and some celebration time. It is important for students to be fully involved in this program as it helps to provide confidence in the subject’s first topic for next year, as well as ensuring that the students have selected the right subjects to do in the following year.

Staff Housing

We have been lucky enough to have had the offer from one family to be able to house a teacher in a property if needed, but it is always good to know if there are other options available in our community. We certainly don’t want finding suitable accommodation to be a barrier to getting the teachers here that we need to fill any position. If you have an accommodation option for a potential new staff member to our community, please contact the school.
