Remembrance Day

Today at 11 o'clock we gathered as school for a Remembrance Day Liturgy. The Liturgy was led by some of our Year 6 students; Londyn, Sienna, Lucas, Lachie, Giselle and Adrianna.

Remembrance Day,  marks the end of World War 1 over a hundred years ago.

Although it was a long time ago, today is an opportunity to remember all those who have died in wars and conflicts since then.

In our world today, life is difficult and there is still conflict in places such as Ukraine.

We pray that we value the freedoms that we enjoy today and commit ourselves to creating peace in our world by recognising that peace begins in our own families, classrooms, schools and communities.  Peace really does begin with us.

Prayer:

Loving God, you call us to be people of peace.

We are grateful to those who have given their lives in times of war and conflict and for those who work to keep us safe from harm in our world today. Help us to be peacemakers in our own world so that all will live in harmony, peace and unity.

We make our prayer in Jesus’ name.

Amen
