Dear Families and Friends,

What a wonderful event

Thanks to all who helped make our Fair on the Hill such a wonderful event. Whilst it is a great money earner for our community, we know that it is much more than that. It helps build community and provides an opportunity for us all to get to know others that little bit more. Walking around during the day, listening to the talk, you soon realise that this is more than a money spinner; it’s about community achievement, a sense of pride and a real sense of belonging. Thanks again to everyone.

We’ve received some great feedback - not just about the magnificent performances, beautiful stalls, range of activities that provided “something for everyone” and outstanding food, but people commented on the wonderful sense of community - great spirit.

Thanks again to everyone involved. We should all be very proud.

More information can be found on the Fair on the Hill Page. The date is set for the Fair on the Hill for next year - 11th November 2023 (12 months from today. Let's all get on board.

Welcome Prep 2023

Yesterday we welcomed our 2023 Prep students for their first transition session. There were obviously very mixed emotions - some very nervous, others anxious whilst others walked in like they owned the place. Whatever the feeling, that's okay and the staff handled all emotions like the true professionals they are, making decisions with their head and their heart. By all reports, many students reported that it was "amazing" and they are very much looking forward to their second transition session next week.

Last night parents of Prep 2023 students were welcomed back to hear Mrs Carley McGuaran, Psychologist and parent, speak to them about what to keep in mind when your child starts school: how to Thrive, not just survive!

Prep 2023 students will be onsite again next Thursday, 17th November, from 9.15-10.15am. Again we will meet in the Undercover area for some games and puzzles before going into our groups for an activity with the staff. Children will go with their 2023 teacher and in their 2023 classroom on Thursday 8th December

Follow up Transition sessions:

  • Thursday 17th November: Prep Transition (9:15am – 10:15am)
  • Thursday 24th November: Prep Transition Session (9:15am – 10:15am)
  • Thursday 8th December: Prep Orientation (9:00am – 12:00pm)

School Fees

Thanks to all those who have attended to their annual school fees - very much appreciated. School fees are an important requirement to meet the school's running costs. A reminder that all outstanding school fees were due and now overdue for final payment by Monday 31/10/2022.

Direct Debit payment plans will continue as planned.

Time to get ‘Sun Smart’

A reminder that St Justin’s is a 'Sun Smart School' and as a result, throughout October to the end of April, students are required to wear a sun protective school hat that protects the face, neck and ears. Please make sure that your child’s hat is clean, in good condition and clearly labelled. New hats can be purchased from Academy Uniforms. Students will also be encouraged to wear broad-spectrum water resistant sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) and to be responsible for its reapplication throughout the day. Students are welcome to bring their own sunscreen (not to share) or apply in the mornings before coming to school. As always, students are also encouraged to have a drink bottle.

Getting ready for 2023  OPEROO - Medical Information

Once again we ask that all families please consider if you have any new or updated  changes in your personal details - phone numbers, address, emergency contact, medications for students etc. Please take the time to update these details on Operoo so that we always have the most up to date information for your child.  We ask that you have all medical forms and Medical Authority forms filled out and up to date. This is especially needed in cases of emergency. Thank you!

As always, thank you for your ongoing support.

Have a great weekend.

Take care,

Mr Torpey
