From the Principal

2023 Workforce Planning
I am in the final stages of establishing our workforce plan for next year. At this point in time, based on our current/future enrolments, we will have 29 classes in operation next year. There will be some changes to our staffing and I will update you of these once they are confirmed.
2023 Class Lists
All classroom teachers are at the beginning stages of formulating our class groups for next year. As you would expect, a huge amount of time is spent planning the make up of each class group. Our major priority is to keep all students at the centre of our thinking. When putting together a grade we ensure there is a balance with:
- Gender
- Academic ability
- Social and emotional factors
I thank all parents and carers who took the time to complete the friendship preference form with your child. This is such an important aspect when building a grade. As I have previously communicated, your child will be placed with at least one friend on their list. It is important to have positive conversations with your child/ren about when starting in a new grade, it is a great opportunity and important to build new friendships. This will greatly support a smooth transition into their new grade.
Grade 3 Camp
I would like to congratulate all our Grade 3 students on completing their first school camp at Merricks last week.
I was able to attend for the morning on Friday and there were plenty of smiling faces participating in a range of activities.
I would also like to thank the Grade 3 team and support staff for making this camp experience possible. There are lots of photos further in the newsletter.
World Teachers Day
Today we celebrated World Teachers Day at school. I would like to thank our PFC and our whole school community for supporting this surprise event for our teachers. We are very fortunate to have the teachers we have at Langy Park and we should be extremely grateful for all the amazing work they do to support all students. There are some great photos in the PFC section of this newsletter from today's celebration.
School Uniform
As we move towards the end of the year, it is important we maintain our school uniform expectations and standards. A copy of our school uniform can be found by clicking the link below. I would appreciate you all taking the time to read it.
Melbourne Cup Day
Just a reminder that it is a public holiday on Tuesday (1st November).
It will be a normal school day on Monday 31st October - see our SRC page for the details on the casual dress/crazy hair theme.
Have a great weekend everyone.
