Remembrance Day 2022

Remembrance Day 2022

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them."

At the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, Mornington Secondary College remembered our fallen soldiers.

Our staff and students along with dignitaries came together to remember the men and women who died protecting our country in World War 1.

After a heart felt service where our new school captains spoke, our school principal, Linda Stanton, presented a moving speech recounting our proud history in regard to World War 1 and Jon Gibson gave a prayer we as watched representatives of our school, community and national service present wreaths.

Despite the threat of rain, our students were proud to pay respect to those who lost their lives defending our way of life.

The school drum corps and flag bearers lead the precession to our walk of remembrance where the school captains concluded the service.

Special guest were invited to enjoy morning tea where our school captains and council members were very excited to socialise and hear more about the meaning of Remembrance Day.

Mornington Secondary College has a proud history of celebrating Remembrance Day as a whole school. Thank you to everyone who worked hard this year to make the day a resounding success.
