Wellbeing

Positive Behaviours for Learning Focus

Our actions affect other people, if we are too close to someone they may feel uncomfortable & unsafe.

Over the next 3 weeks each learning group will be focussing on the following expectations from our PBL Matrix. These will be explicitly taught during Wellbeing Hour & revisited throughout the days.

It would be great if you could also reinforce these expectations at home and ask your child/children how they are following these at school.

At OLSC we shine when we show:

Respect:

  • We are aware of the personal space of others
  • We are patient

Responsibility

  • We take ownership of our choices

Resilience:

  • We always try our best
  • We learn from our mistakes.

Remembrance Day

On November 11 we celebrate Remembrance Day, on this day we observe one minute silence at 11.00am, to remember those who died or suffered for Australia's cause in all wars and armed conflicts.  The poppy is worn as a show of support for the Armed Forces community. The red poppy is a symbol of Remembrance and hope for a peaceful future.

Each year the SRC support the Werribee Branch of the RSL by selling poppies for .20c or a donation. All money raised is used by the RSL to support returned soldiers and/or their families.

We will start selling poppies on Wednesday November 2nd. Please help us support this wonderful organisation.

Multicultural Day

Thank you to all the families who were able to join us at our Multicultural Day assembly last Friday.  It was fantastic to finally gather as a whole school & have our families join in.

We hope this is the start many events where we can gather together.

Family Disco

Our Parents and Friends group is up and running & have organised a Family Disco Night.

Let's finish off the year with a great social event not only for the kids but the parents too! Dance the night away with DJ Julius and his smoke and light machines. Snacks and drinks available for purchase.

This is a Family night & all students attending must have an adult with them.

Help Needed

We are happy to report our multicultural garden is flourishing, the combination of rain & sun over the last few weeks has certainly helped our garden grow. Unfortunately the weeds also love the rain & the sun.

If you are able to spare an hour or so some time next week to weed our multicultural garden please contact Sandy. We are not fussy as far as day or time, whatever suits you.

We will be forever grateful.
