Water Familiarisation Program 

The Water Familiarisation Program will operate each Friday from Friday the 21st October 2022 through to Friday 2nd December 2022. Please note that there will be no swimming on Friday 11th November 2022 due to Remembrance Day and a prior booking at the pool. 

 

Students will change into their swimmers at school before leaving for the pool, older students may wish to come to school with swimmers on under their uniform. Students will change back into their uniform before they leave the pool.  All students will need to bring a towel and swimmers (and goggles if they wish) in a labelled bag. All items of clothing should also be labelled. This year, entry to the pool is $4.50 and season passes will be accepted. Students will need to bring their money in a labelled envelope or bag. 

 

Hot lunches will run as normal.

 

Parents are required to complete the Compass event permission note and the questions relating to swimming ability and medical conditions as soon as possible.  Please note if the questions are not complete, permission is not granted.

 

Gala Soccer Day 

The Gala Soccer Day has now been rescheduled for Friday 4th November. St Mary of the Angels is able to send one staff member to the Soccer Gala Day to supervise all soccer teams, hence, this will mean that parents will be required to supervise their own child at this event for the entire duration of all games.  All parents will also need to transport their own children to attend this event.

Location: Gipp St playing fields, Tamworth

Start & End Time: 9am-2pm

Cost to participate: $5.00 (if already paid last term please note you do not need to pay this fee again) 

Uniform: Full school sports uniform including green shorts, soccer socks will be supplied to students on the day generously donated by the school P&F.

Equipment requiredWearing of shin guards is compulsory and players will need to supply their own to play however soccer boots  are not compulsory.

Transport to and from event: Parents to transport their own children

What to bring: recess and lunch, plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat. Alternatively, full canteen facilities will be available, CASH ONLY.

Footy Award 

Jack Wesley belatedly received the Andrew Bull Memorial trophy from Guyra Junior Rugby League this week. This award was presented to Jack by club president Gina Lockyer. Well done Jack. 

Leading Edge Rugby League Academy -Guyra/Armidale - Rugby League Program 2023

LERLA is a Junior Rugby League development program, designed to help improve the skills and knowledge of all players who play this amazing game. LERLA will be looking to base a program in Guyra or Armidale (pending interest) for a short program in 2023. This will be a four day program (during the week training of an afternoon and on the weekend).
