Cool, Clever and Fun Kids:

We have so many it is hard to do justice to them all, but here are a few achievers and achievements.

Left - Lego Language Building - The children did a memory game first to get everyone in a more Lego mood. Next, they did the Builder, Engineer, Supplier activity - photo attached. Emily was an amazing Engineer, her description of each Lego piece and where to place it was spot on. Shawn was the Builder at first but part through he changed to Supplier and they aced the activity.

Left - International Student Minchan is with us in room 20 for three weeks. He has fitted in wonderfully well, and our children have ensured he really feels part of our whānau.

Right - Chloe was just one of our super-proud WHS Netball Prize Giving Award winners.

Left - We have a new trainee teacher in room 20 who is also a Sports Activator. Georgia has been fulfilling this role in our school for several years but has now won a new position as Sports Coordinator for Green Bay High. We are so sad to lose Georgia, all our children and staff have loved working with her and will all miss her much.

Meanwhile, Anton is stepping in to fill the gap as and where he can. He also is a bit of a dab hand at Chess, and our children enjoy challenging him.

Left - Aishani gained the Top Mark in the Country for the Jazz foundation exam for Global Dance Qualification.

She also achieved Distinction with Honours for Tap and Distinction for Ballet.

Aishani is very proud of herself (as are her parents too, of course).

Right - Batman's son and his mate Spiderman's son were also at WHS dancing up a storm on our outdoor dance stage recently.

Left - Davi had a birthday, and mum and dad provided a pēnata for Davi and room 34 to enjoy.

Right - a cool T-Shirt message parents and kids can relate to.

Below - is yet another cool recent visitor to WesternHeights School.

Below - our juniors love their structured-approach-to-play-day Friday mornings.

Jo Merritt introduced his class and our senior school to the world of 3D Pen Printers. Below is the first draft of a flower done by student artist Breena, followed by her final product. It is quite stunning. A dragon made by Jo then follows this.

Two weeks ago, I had the privilege of watching room 13 showcase their speech presentations on Animals.

All children acquitted themselves so well - with confidence, creativity and pride. To see children as young as year three able to stand up in front of an audience of children from other classes, as well as other teachers and their principal, and present so well was a huge credit to them and to their teacher Mr Ramadan.

Left - Levi is proud to be Tongan, especially during Tongan Language Week.
