College life in pictures

Strike a pose!

On Tuesday, we welcomed SMC parent and professional photographer, Tracy Vagg for a photo shoot with our Junior School. We can't wait to share the photos with you all soon!

Using LEGO to build knowledge

Meet our next generation of Lego Masters! Year 2 Extension students have been keeping their hands - and minds - busy using Lego Prime Robotics to design and build their own creations.

Pictured below, L–R: Anya (Year 2) with a pinball machine made with Tom and Angus; Annabel and Katie (Year 5) with their Ferris wheel; Angus and Tom (Year 2) made a platform that moves 'Daniel', their Lego figure, in his wheelchair onto the river ferry; Sylvia, Mylah and Caitlin (Year 1), created a carnival 'snack bar' that transports food to Daniel; Emlyn (Year 1), built a fast-moving Ferris wheel. She had fun using coding to try and move the Ferris wheel at different speeds.

Another eventful fortnight in Kinder

From dazzling our Junior School Chinese Teacher, Alison Lowe, pictured, with their knowledge of Chinese words learned using the ELLA language app, to enjoying a Sandy Bay Beach playdate with Kinders from St Virgil's College, our Wallabies and Koalas have had an action-packed two weeks.

This afternoon, the Kinders donned their best sparkly wings and flower crowns for their fairy day afternoon tea, complete with magical cupcakes, fairy bread and a generous sprinkling of fairy dust.

Year 11/12 Design and Production (Wood)

Well done to Evelyn Rodriguez (Year 11) on her mid-century inspired coffee table, pictured above, which she made from mostly plywood. We think you have a great eye for design, Evelyn!

We also couldn't pass up an opportunity to showcase Mackenzie Kinghorn's (Year 12) bedside cabinets, pictured right. Crafted from pine, the cabinets feature handmade fluted drawer fronts.
