Congratulations to the following students:

Maddie Donaghy (Year 7) and her pony, Monty put on a show-stopping performance last weekend at the Inter School Equestrian ODE hosted by the Huon Pony Club in Ranelagh.

Proudly representing St Mary’s College, Maddie competed in a composite Scramble team alongside riders from Mount Carmel College and Southern Christian College.

Following on from their recent success at the Huntingfield Winter Woollies Dressage Series (where they were crowned Reserve Champions), the team made a clean sweep of the Inter School Short Course, taking out first place in the high school division and first place overall. Maddie also finished second in her individual dressage group with a score of 72.50 per cent.

Congratulations, Maddie on you outstanding performances and ongoing commitment to the sport. We are sure it makes all the early mornings, travel and hard work worthwhile. We are excited to see what the future holds for you!

Katie (Year 5) and Emily Yan (Year 3), who performed beautifully at the recent City of Clarence Eisteddfod.

We are proud of you both for all the had work you have put into preparing for this event, and for your courage performing in front of a live audience.

Well done to all students who participated in the eisteddfod. If you have photos from the event, please send them to communications@smc.tas.edu.au so they can be shared with our community.

Meg Brewer (Year 7) and Mae Williams (Year 6), who put in a solid effort in the national final of the Prime Minister's Spelling Bee, with Meg finishing 10th and Mae 12th. A great result from both students - we are very proud of them!
