Cabaret 2022

DISCO WONDERLAND
On Friday, 3 June we had our annual College Cabaret themed ‘Disco Wonderland.’ Music from the height of disco in the 1970s filled the Endeavour Centre and the turnout was great with performers and guests coming dressed in costume to fit the theme.
The first ensemble for the night was the Year 9 band who opened with ‘Canned Heat.’ They had an excellent performance and did a great job for their very first Cabaret. There were also a few quizzes throughout the night and audience members had to name songs, artists, and movies after seeing pictures or listening to audio clips.
Big Band was the next to perform, with a highlight being an ‘Earth Wind and Fire Dance Mix’. Next for the night was the Year 10 Wind Quartet, made up of four Year 10 girls, and they performed a couple of pieces, one of which was Michael Jackson’s ‘Blame it on the Boogie.’
They were followed by the Senior Vocal Ensemble which featured three Year 12 students and Miss Stanley, who sung a few songs such as Boney M’s ‘Sunny.’ After that some of the music students hit the dance floor to perform a flash mob dance to the Saturday Night Fever song ‘You Should Be Dancing’, which was a huge hit with the audience!
Next up was the Year 10 Rock Band. They performed a few pieces including ‘Pick up the Pieces,’ and Boston’s ‘More Than a Feelin.’
The second to last performance was from Showband. Made up of the most advanced musicians at Endeavour they performed six pieces such as Queen’s ‘Don’t Stop Me Now,’ and Rose Royce’s ‘Car Wash.’ The night ended with some dancing and a performance from the staff and old scholar band. This band performed a set of groovy disco hits like ‘Le Freak,’ and ‘I’m Coming Out.’ The night was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed by all those involved!
