FEAST OF THE SACRED HEART

This is a moveable feast that honors the Sacred Heart. In 1675, Jesus told St. Margaret Mary that He wanted the Feast of the Sacred Heart to be celebrated on the Friday after the Corpus Christi. In 1856, the Feast of the Sacred Heart became a universal feast.

St. John Paul II, a great devotee of the Sacred Heart, said, “This feast reminds us of the mystery of the love of God for the people of all times.”

I personally love that as and OLSH Charism school this is one of our Feast Days. The Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, who are our Founding Order,  are passionate about bringing the love of God to people everywhere. They value every human person and hold as precious, the words of Jesus ‘I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full’.

On this day, we celebrate with our fellow OLSH school, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College. It is a day that we get to show our love for our sister school and our hearts are full on this day with joy. The children are so excited to see their "Sisters" and are sad to see them go at the end of the day, but is a fulfilling and fruitful day filled with activities and Celebrating Mass together. We thank Fr Selva for leading us in prayer and OLSH College students and staff for joining in our celebrations.
