BOOK WEEK PARADE 2022
DATE: Tuesday 23 August
TIME: 9am
VENUE: John Paul II School Hall
GRADES: K to 6
During August we are celebrating CBCA Book Week. This annual event celebrates outstanding books by Australian children’s authors and illustrators. We have also been reading and discussing the CBCA shortlisted books during library lessons and voting on our favourites. The theme for this year is ‘Dreaming with eyes open’. Further information is available at https://cbca.org.au/cbca-book-week
To celebrate Book Week students are asked to come to school dressed as a character from any book suitable for primary school students for our Book Week Parade on Tuesday 23 August in the school hall. Students are encouraged to use their imagination and things they can make and find at home for their costume. Students wearing costumes may stay in free dress for the day. Any students not wearing a costume should be in full school uniform. Parents are welcome to attend the Book Week Parade but space will be limited this year as our new school hall is still under construction.
During the Book Week Parade some students will also be awarded for their achievements in reading during the Premier’s Reading Challenge in Term 2.
