Principal's Message

Thank you to families who have given some feedback on the potential for a school lunches program at John Paul II in 2023.  There have been discussions with both the School Board and the JPII P&F about trialling a school lunches program at John Paul II in 2023.

This would mean providing nutritious meals for our students every day, at a small cost to parents. You may have seen that a similar idea is being trialled in some state government schools. To continue to plan effectively for a possible trial, we would like to ask parents for any further feedback here:

Recently I was lucky enough to spend a couple of days in Canberra as a guest of the Catholic Education Office, Archdiocese of Canberra-Goulburn. It was a fantastic experience, and I was impressed at some of the work the diocese is undertaking.

They really took great care of us, and it was fascinating to explore how another system operates.

It has been really motivating to continue the change process at John Paul II, utilising the support available to us from both dioceses and through professional reading. I am very appreciative of the trip as it was an opportunity to ruminate on the very heart of the educational process.  Over time, hopefully the trip and the further work required directly benefits the students at John Paul II Catholic School.

As part of this newsletter, you will read a letter from Father Richard.  On behalf of all the students, staff, and families of John Paul II Catholic School, we thank Father Richard for his contribution to our school and the Bellerive-Lindisfarne Parish.  We wish him every blessing as he embarks on his twelve months leave of absence from priestly ministry.

Enjoy this fortnight's newsletter.
