Dear Parents and Friends

PARENT SOCIAL NIGHT

Well, we finally got our “Casino Night” after 2 years of cancellations due to our lingering “friend” COVID. By all accounts a great night was had by all and it was lovely that we could all get together on the night and have a great catch up!  Congratulations to Hayley who was crowned St Brigid's Champion on the night.

We also say congratulations to the winners of our raffle.  Our major prize of $1,000 school fees was won by the Samson Family and other major prize - Ladies Bike was won by the Hampton Family.

CHILD SAFE STANDARDS

At our School Advisory Council (SAC) meeting last week, I presented the 11 new Child Safe Standards. The purpose of the presentation was to provide SACs with an overview of the new Child Safe Standards including a history of the Child Safe Standards, why the new Child Safe Standards are so important and what’s different.

COINS FOR LISMORE

Tomorrow, we will be asking for a gold coin donation to raise funds for St Josephs in Lismore. We will be creating a coin trail in the Hall. We are aiming to get the distance (by ratio) from Mordialloc to Lismore.

The  floods have devastated the school and the school communities and at this stage, they really need donations of money to assist with supporting families and rebuilding.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL FOOD DRIVE

On Friday 17th June, the children are asked to bring a donation for St Vincent de Paul. The shelves are running very low at St. Brigids and they are in desperate need of pasta sauce, grocery items and toiletries. All donations will be gladly accepted. Please check the useby dates.  We as a community are so very generous whenever Barry from St Vincent de Paul calls for our help and we thank you for that generosity!  Donations can be left at the office from tomorrow.

NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK

St Brigid’s celebrated throughout the week culminating in a lovely prayer service on Friday afternoon led by our Year 6 leaders. As part of the liturgy, each class was presented with a prayer cloth made of fabric designed by an Indigenous artist.

We thank our sewing team- Wendy Loo, Tash Donavan, Cleidi Bagatoli and Erin McGeoch for their contribution.
