Zones  of  Regulation - Gr 1/2

This week students participating in the Zones of Regulation groups focused on identifying the size of a problem. Students shared and discussed examples of problems relating to them both at school and at home such as “my friends want to play a different game”, and worked together in placing them on the Size Of The Problem Scale of 1-5. Students also discussed how the size of their reaction needs to match the size of their problem however are still free to feel any of the zones as a response.

Thank you to Lauren for being our coach. Thankyou Mrs Franke for being our cheerleader. We went really well and came 3rd in the region! We won one out of our four games. We tried our hardest and we were really proud of ourselves. We versed Leongatha, Grey Street, Guthridge and TUBS combined. Our team was Summah Nash, Asha Larkin, Aylah Collins, Madison Schrader, Jaxx Ryan, Lara Nunn, Summah Al Najar, Zara Houchen, Charlie Hennesey and Lace O’Brien. We were really hot and bothered after playing 4 games.

Lions Club Public Speaking

On Thursday 22nd of July, we watched our Grade 3/4 students and Grade 5/6 students compete in the Lions Club Competition. The selected students bravely stood up and delivered their speeches in front of their peers and adjudicators. We had Lions Club representatives; Pat and Joanne, and our School Council representative; Sarah Brown, help us run the event. The Grade 3/4 topic was "A place you would like to visit", and the Grade 5/6 topic was "Introduce a famous person from the 19th century". Students had spent weeks rehearsing after school, during their lunch times and in class. All the speeches presented were outstanding, however a winner must always be chosen in these competitions.

An honourable mention to our contestants: Aleena Khan, Misha Reid, Indi Bentley, Skyla Embleton, Ollie Slater, Hannah Kolody, Amelie Brown, Isabelle Heard, Adeena Khan, Madison Schrader, Riley Taylor-Bowman and Sian Radic. Also we had Sienna Giles, River Tomski-Booker, Aleera De Vries who had rehearsed heaps but missed the day.

A massive congratulations to Otis Stretch and Poppy Brown who were our winners!
