SRC Report

Last term BSC's Student Representative Council (SRC) held not only a Winter Woollies Day but also a Wood Raffle and a delicious BBQ to finish off the term.

The Winter Woollies Day required everyone to bring along a gold coin donation, which will go towards covering the cost of future school projects. It was great to see students turn up in their warmest winter woollies and contribute to an excellent cause.

This was followed up by the Wood Raffle and Casual Clothes day in the final week of the term. Over the course of the last week, SRC students, with the assistance of local and regional businesses, tried to sell as many tickets to the Wood Raffle as possible. On the last day of Term 2, in addition to announcing  the winners of the Wood Raffle, we also held a Casual Clothes day and BBQ. It was an excellent way to finish off the busy term, with SRC students giving away free sausages during lunchtime, much to the delight of students, some of whom returned for seconds and thirds.

As a result of these fundraising efforts, we raised in excess of $700 for the school.

The winners of the Wood Raffle were:

1st Place ~ Greg Adams (3 Cubic Metres of Firewood)

2nd Place ~ Tony and Anne Long (1 Cubic Metre of Firewood)

The BSC SRC committee would like to thank Wade Simpson of Raw Logging and Haulage for donating the 3 cubic metres of firewood and Simon De Zoette-Spiero for donating 1 cubic metre of firewood, as without their generous donations, there wouldn't have been a raffle. We would also like to thank all the volunteers who assisted with the BBQ and running of the Winter Woollies Day.

Senior Studies Evening

Last night we held our annual Senior Studies evening for Year 10 students and their parents. It was a great turnout and gave students the chance to discuss options for their 2023 subject selections. Now that all students have the necessary information, we urge them to take the time to think about which pathway will be best suited to them. Teachers will be following up with individual students over the course of the term in relation to subject choices and career pathways.
