Interview with a Volunteer

Julie Dunlevie

Why do you volunteer at BNPS?

Being a working parent, I miss out on being there for pick up/drop off times in the playground. By volunteering for times that work for me, I get to still be a part of the school community and engage with all the lovely families.

What year level are your children in?

Hannah is in Year 6 and Georgia is in year 2. We also still have another one to go - Emily, she starts in 2021.

What roles have you volunteered for during your time at BNPS?

Over the past 6 years I have been involved in various volunteering roles at BNPS - Class Rep Program, Mother's Day Stall, School Fete and more recently, the Annual Gala.

This year's Gala (August 24th) is going to be the best one ever! Planning started last year, and I am surrounded by an amazing committee who are 100% committed about making it a sensational night.

What is your background/current role (outside of BNPS!)?

I currently work in sales for a toy and nursery distributor - Danish By Design. Lucky me having access to beautiful European toys and baby furniture. 😊

What do you do during your spare time?

On weekends when the kids don’t have sporting commitments, I like to get away with the family to our favourite holiday destination, Sorrento. I also love to read books, go for walks and play with our new whippet pup Peggy.

What’s the best thing about BNPS?

A strong sense of community spirit. There are so many fantastic people that dedicate so much time and energy into making the school great for now and the future.
