Students Taking Action

Maia K (PD)
We would like to acknowledge the actions of Maia K (PD) who raised and donated $270 to the families and victims of the Christchurch tragedy last week. Maia decided to sell all of her own toys to be able to help the people who needed it. Congratulations Maia on demonstrating so many of the PYP values.
Curtis E (1B)
Our Inquiry Unit is looking at weather. I brought in an experiment for Show and Tell to show the class ‘How rain forms’. I also showed the class how evaporation works. I brought in a container and a glass and I filled the container with water. I talked about how little bits of water goes up in to the air making rain. I also made and coloured a sun and cut it out. I got my friend Joshua to hold the sun to show what happens when the sun goes up and down. It needs to be very hot. Curtis E (1B)
Great ACTION Curtis - well done!
Angus S (2D)
At Assembly on Monday 18 March, our Sustainability Captains acknowledged Angus S (2D) and team for taking action during their 'How we Express Ourselves' unit by cleaning the school playground. Angus brought hi-vis vests, gloves and plastic garbage bags to school to encourage his peers to show action. His trusty friend Finn B (2D) and their hand-picked team took it upon themselves to clean up the school and fill three large garbage bags of rubbish over several days.
Congratulations and thank you to Angus and his team for setting a wonderful example.
Jye H (5D)
Well done to Jye H (5D) for helping out at the FAC BBQ stall at our Welcome Event. Jye confidently took money and gave change to many hungry customers!
Great job Jye!
