Australian Teacher Aides Appreciation Week

Celebrating our Inclusion Officers and Multiculutral Aides

This week we celebrated 'Australian Teacher Aides Appreciation Week' at Doncaster Secondary College. It gives us an opportunity to acknowledge and reflect on the important role of Inclusion Officers and Multicultural Aides, whose hard work and dedication make a difference to students, teachers and the whole school's community.

Bianca Foti

Inclusion Education Coordinator

Sandra Colombani

Our favourite memory about Sandra is that she is always willing to help people out!

Sandra has helped us with lots of things and a few of them organising our locker and creating timetables to make sure we take the right things to the classroom and completing an assessment task in Science.

We would like to thank Sandra for being so helpful with our lockers, classwork, math and assessment tasks.

Jeanine Innes

Jeanine is so nice to everyone and is always there for people. She makes sure students “make good choices” and makes everyone feel included. She always makes us smile.

Jeanine gives really good life advice and lifts our mood. She also gave out things to make people feel better. She gave out a stress ball to a student to help them with fidgeting and sometimes gives out blankets when they are cold.

We’d like to thank Jeanine for the amount of help she provides to students, for always saying “Hi Cherubs!” for always being there to talk to and for listening to us.

Anna Balasopoulos

Anna is a very helpful person and is clued in about the work. We see her as a friend and someone easy to talk to.

Anna has helped with creating summary sheets for Math tests and using Microsoft PowerPoint and Word. She also helps us in Science.

We would like to thank Anna for helping us in class with everything and for always being there to lend a helping hand.

Cate Leslie

In Math, she helped us when we had a substitute teacher and we were able to finish the work.

One day Cate was telling us not to go near the doors of the Police Station when we were out on an excursion.

Thanks for coming out on the MyFuture excursion and making it so much fun!

Dawn Warren

Dawn is just the nicest person I’ve ever met.

In Humanities, I have a lot of trouble with memorising dates. Dawn works with me so that I can complete the work.

I would like to thank Dawn for coming to this school and helping kids with difficulties. Without her, I would not have been good at Geography! Menuli P. 7F

Donna McKinlay

When we went to the VCAL awards and we did fun stuff before it like having coffee with Donna

Last year I had a tough time, she helped me through the stressful times.

I would like to thank Donna for helping me get through Year 11 and now with getting through Year 12.

Georgia H. 12S

She is very helpful, friendly and funny. She often tells jokes during homework club to make us stay happy.

Yang Chen

Ms Chen is very friendly and helpful. She always welcomes students back to her office for extra help during her spare time.

English is sometimes difficult for us and Ms Chen has helped us with Chinese terminology so that we can understand the content. She explains things very clearly and adds extra details to support us.

We would like to say a very big thank you to Ms Chen for always helping us understand the work in accounting and helping us to catch up with the work when we needed it.

Mary Liao

During Homework Club, she helped us with completing the Science CAT and has helped us with understanding Math questions.

We would like her to thank her for being so helpful to us and being a very hard worker. On the first day of school, she introduced us to the school and gave us important information about the rules here.

Mali Panahi

Mali is very kind and loves to help people a lot. I can understand her.

I think she has probably helped me the most with Math. When I have trouble with Math, I don’t have to put my hand up, she will just come over to me and help me.

I would like to thank her for being here at DSC and for helping me with Math questions. She has always helped me try to understand questions better. I hope that when I am older, I will be able to help other students who struggle with Math.
