Year 12 dress-up day

'What I Want to be When I Grow Up'

On Tuesday, 3 September the Year 12 cohort had a dress-up day with the theme 'What I Want to be When I Grow Up'. There were some really creative costumes and it was os great to see them all getting into the spirit with only twenty days of school left!

School Captains invited to Parliament House

As part of an annual event, on Wednesday, 27 August, School Captains from the Eastern Metropolitan area were invited to Parliament House to learn about the history of Australia’s governing body.

We had an opportunity to tour the stunning building, learning about its architecture and the pivotal part it played in Australia’s history. The night was very engaging and gave us a wider perspective of the City of Melbourne and how the Upper House and Lower House run, and provided us with an opportunity to hear about new laws that the government are trying to pass.

With access to private parts of the building, that is closed off to the public and media, both Abbey and I were given a unique opportunity to meet the leaders of our wider community and mingle with members of Parliament. This opportunity is something that Abbey and I are extremely grateful for and hope that future students will be able to enjoy and benefit from too.
