COVID -19

From our recent parent survey results and in consultation with the staff we are putting the following in place for Term 3 as part of COVID 19 Phase 4 or 5.

The following processes will commence from Week 2, Monday 27th August

  • Parent volunteers will resume. Teachers will contact parents/carers if they need volunteers as part of outdoor classroom learning.
  • Parent help rosters will resume. Teachers will contact parents/carers if they require additional adult support in the classroom.
  • High school students who are picking up a Burrendah sibling will remain at the high school until 3:00pm. They will collect their younger brother/sister from the ECE Carpark gate or MAIN gate. High school students will continue to remain off Burrendah school site unless on work experience or in the company of their parent.
  • Assemblies, Merit Awards and Aussie of the Month will continue on hold.
  • All adults on school grounds, except Kindergarten or Pre-primary adults on the parent help roster, need to sign in at Reception. Kindergarten and Pre-primary classes will have their own sign-in roster and identification badges in their classrooms.

The following process will commence from Week 3 Monday 3rd August

  • Parents/carers will be able to come into the classroom in the afternoon from 3:00pm daily to see their child’s work or have a quick chat with the teacher.

The following new process will commence from Week 4, Fri 14th August

  • Open Classes will begin. Selected classes will be inviting families to come into the classroom on a Friday morning from 8:30-9:15am. More information on this new process will be in our next newsletter.

The following processes continue from Term 2

  • Parents/carers are able to come into the school to drop off their child in the morning to their child’s classroom and collect them from outside of the classroom in the afternoon. Children should not be taken to the classroom before 8:30am. Children are able to be collected from their classroom by an adult after the siren at 3:00pm (or from 2:50pm if organised through the classroom teacher).
  • The school gates are open from 8:30am for parents to drop students off at their classroom. If a parent needs to go to Reception they are able to enter the gates from 8:15am. Gates will be opened from 2:50pm for parents/carers to enter the school to collect their child from their classroom.
  • Parents/carers and visitors are able to phone Reception to meet them at the MAIN gate or Crosswalk gate during the day. Parents/carers and visitors are also able to come into the school by opening and closing the gate and then proceeding directly to Reception.
  • Children will be greeted by staff at the MAIN gate and ECE Carpark gates in the morning from 8:15am for families who wish to say goodbye to their child at the gate. The K/P gate is open from 8:30am. The ECE Carpark, K/P, and MAIN gates will be closed at 9:00am. Students/adults arriving after this time need to enter the school using the Crosswalk gate or MAIN gate. These gates will be closed but not locked throughout the day.
  • Children from Pre-primary to Year 6 arriving at school without an adult from 8:15-8:30am will be supervised in the undercover area. Children should not be on school grounds prior to 8:15am unless they are in the choir, attending a before school program or a special short term arrangement has been made with Administration. OSHClub is available from 7:00am for families.
  • We will continue a staggered finish at the end of the day for those families who wish their eldest Burrendah child to collect their younger brothers/sisters and meet their family at one of the gates. The eldest child is released at 2:50pm to collect their siblings.
