Performing Arts

Well here we are again. I feel very lucky that I’ve had the opportunity to spend a few weeks with the students in person last term. This has certainly influenced the lessons I am now creating, along with parent/carer feedback of course. The photos, videos, voice recordings, words and drawings that are already getting posted are just brilliant! Seeing everyone interact with the activities puts a great big smile on my face.

The F/1s started off with dance and it was amazing to see other family members join in here!

Year 2/3 students are working on their soccer skills for the first three weeks this term. When we return to school they will have opportunities to apply these skills in game situations, so keep practising!

4/5/6 students designed and completed their own fitness circuits, incorporating exercises they learnt last term. Throughout term three 4/5/6 students will be participating in games and dances from other cultures. They will use these lessons as a springboard into investigating what games are played and what dances are performed in the country they are researching for their inquiry topic.

Keep being active and keep having fun Newlands! We’ve got this!
