Term 3 wellbeing support

We encourage any senior school students (and students attending onsite) who are needing support during this time to drop in to the Wellbeing Space. We have a duty worker available to speak with students when you first come in to discuss options for support.

Our school GP and Psychologist will continue providing support offsite via telehealth (phone or video calls) and students can see a Wellbeing team member to make an appointment.

Students can also access services such as Lifeline (13 11 14) and Kids Helpline (1800 55 1800) for phone and online counselling and headspace also offers free online and telephone support https://headspace.org.au/eheadspace/.

For students participating in remote learning, our virtual Wellbeing room is here:

https://tinyurl.com/y2bla5gf to provide support for students and a link to the Wellbeing check in form. This will also be available to students via Compass and updated as this virtual space grows.

Remote learning study tips

Orygen Youth Health  have put together some study tips to help students in managing work and study in a time of covid-19

These are some tips to make this transition a little easier:

  • Set-up a dedicated study space that provides some quiet space for you to concentrate or try using headphones if you don’t have a quiet spot available.
  • Consider setting up an online study group with your friends or classmates at a set time each week to touch base, share study tips and stay connected.
  • Plan out your day! It can be helpful to schedule your study time to keep things ticking over but it can also be helpful to set reminders for breaks, food and to make sure you head outside for some fresh air. If it helps, set an alarm to keep your schedule on track.
  • Eliminate distractions where you can - let those around you know if you need 1-2 hours of uninterrupted time if it’s possible. Put your mobile phone in the other room and only use your browser for study-related content.

Kidshelpline have also produced a Kidshelpline coronavirus guide to support young people.
