From the Principal Class Team

Caring for each other
The College Connect, Protect and Respect (CPR) theme this term is Caring for each other. At this difficult time we want to assure everyone in our school community that the College is here for each and every one of you. Growing our resilience and ensuring we promote self-care are really important steps we all can take at this time. Starting this term we will be sending out a weekly pulse survey to students. The pulse tool measures the week-to-week wellbeing and engagement of all our students. It tracks students individual wellbeing so that we can respond if needed. It also tracks student engagement so the school can make changes if necessary. Students are also encouraged to access our Virtual Wellbeing Space and reach out to the Wellbeing Team or their Coordinator if they need support. Parents and families please also reach to the relevant coordinator by email if we can be of assistance to you right now.
- Tell someone they matter to you – Modelling positive interactions and telling people you care about them is important. They need to hear it right now. If you are concerned about any student’s wellbeing, please refer to a Coordinator or our Wellbeing Team to ensure support is put in place.
- Do the self-care activities in the diary – Students use the GEM activities in their diaries to help students develop Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness. Maybe right now this is something you can do as a family.
Wherever you are right now we encourage to think about the different ways you can show care in your community. Every interaction, every day can make a difference to someone else - a smile, a kind word, a generous or considerate gesture. This ideas relates directly to the wellbeing culture we are creating at SASC, not just this term but into the future. It is about our collective responsibility to ensure all members of our school community feel Connected, Protected and Respected. Some positive ideas you could try today:
