Home Readers

This is a friendly reminder to encourage your child to read at home on a daily basis. We are continuing to use Bug Club and RazKids as Home Readers and we strongly encourage you to use both of these great resources to ensure your child is reading in both Spanish and English. The benefits of reading for just 20 minutes per day are outlined below:

Growth Mindset

Students have been developing their 'Growth Mindset' and learning how to persist and learn from mistakes. Here is a short video of students explaining what growth mindset is to them.

Maths

Our Foundation students have been continuing to work on telling time to the hour, comparing the length of objects and connecting number names to their symbol and a model. Similarly, Our Year 1 students are continuing to work on telling time to the half hour, measuring objects using informal units and modelling and renaming two digit numbers using icy-pole sticks.

Literacy

In Writing, we have been working on creating narratives. Here is a video of  some students sharing the narratives they created based on picture prompts or their own ideas. Alongside this in Spanish Writing, students have been investigating the structure of a narrative.
