Leadership Report

The end of Term 2 ...

Well, here we are at the end of one of the most unusual terms ever. It been a term where we have all experienced many changes: how teachers deliver content; the way students engage; and for parents, multi-tasking as parents and as student mentors.

The positive has been how we have all learnt new skills. Who could forget the staff video?Such a knock-out!

We now have more remote opening doors than the Victorian Parliament House. The refurbishment has certainly reduced our exposure to COVID virus on door handles. We expect to come back to school next term to a new sensory playground, completed ramps to the main entrance to the admin, staffroom and the 4/5/6 building. A major upgrade of the surface from the student toilets to the grade 4/5/6 building has also been undertaken, plus landscaping.

We want to thank you for all of your support during Term 2. It has been an incredible effort by all members of our community and we wish everyone a happy and safe holiday.

As we have learnt in recent days, Victorian is not completely out of woods from COVID. We hope our community stays safe and in some way enjoys the break.

I think we can all agree the staff and children deserve a much earned break from Zoom, Teams and any other form of device assistance.

THANK YOU!!!

Last Minute Update - Covid 19

Apologies for the number of pages to this newsletter. I have included a copy of a letter from the Adj Clin Prof Brett Sutton, Victorian Chief Health Officer for your information as we move toward term 3.

School Start & Finish Times

Beginning in Term 3, our school start and finish times will return to normal. Students are to be at school at 8:50 for a 9:00 start. The school finish time for all students will be at 3:30. While starting and finishing times will return back to normal, we ask families to continue to follow our social distancing regulations including:

Students in the F-1 area will enter and leave the school via the gate next to the bike racks as they have done so during Term 2. All students and teachers will continue meet on the basketball court each morning and be picked up from there in the afternoon.

The  2-3 students will continue to enter/leave the school through the front gate. Students can still be collected by 2-3 families in the breezeway if needed.

Grades 4-6 students are to continue to enter and leave the school independently. Parents are asked not to enter the school at this time.

Sentral

Sentral has just updated their Parent Portal interface. It is very intuitive and easy to use. Make sure you update your SENTRAL app and enjoy the new look!

Semester 1 Reports/Parent Teacher Interviews

On Friday July 24th, Families will receive their child’s Semester 1 report. Our reports will look a little bit different this semester as their will be no progression points. The reports will have an individualised comment relating to our school’s values and keystones. These will be linked to both onsite and offsite learning experiences.

Families are now able to book their preferred Parent-Teacher interview times on SENTRAL which will take place on Thursday July the 30th. The school will ensure it meets all social distancing regulations so interviews can take place at school. Students from 4-6 are required to attend the interview with the parents.

Parent/Teacher Interviews

Parent teacher interview day is a normal school day and students are required to attend. If you have any questions or seek clarification, please don’t hesitate to contact the school.
