Visual Arts

Oh, you need hands ...

We've had a busy and enjoyable fortnight in the Art Room!

There are displays up in the C block corridor and the office area, as well as the Art room itself. The students (and I) are looking forward to next term when we can share them with you all!

F/1s have created some beautiful collages over the last fortnight. We changed paper by ripping, bending, scrunching, folding and cutting, and created some really lovely pieces. We talked about effective gluing methods and how changing paper can add texture to an art work.

2/3s used the Keystone of Collaboration this week to create some vibrant murals. They kept the Elements of Line and Colour in mind as they worked together using pencils, textas, collage, water colour pencils, oil pastels or gel pens.

4/5/6s continued their self portrait drawing unit and some chose to create a single line portrait. This is a really tricky way to create a portrait and some of the results were amazing.

We are all looking forward to a new term!

Have a peaceful and calming break and I can't wait to see you all back in the Art Room in Term 3!

Stay safe,

Belinda
