NEW SPORTS EQUIPMENT

This week we have taken delivery of some new sports equipment. There are new rugby league balls, news soccer goals, new 9m long skipping ropes and some tennis nets. Part of our 'Doing Good in the Hood' - 'Around the Grounds' presentations by our school and house captains is going to focus on looking after the new equipment.

MINI ATHLETICS DAYS

Tomorrow is the first of the mini athletics days that are replacing our cancelled athletics carnival. The children from Kinder will be participating in a variety of activities designed to assist them with learning some of the skills required for field events such as discus, shot put and long jump. Sadly we can not have parents come and watch due to COVID restrictions, however Mr Chamberlain will be filming the children in action and taking photos of the activities to share on the newsletter and the school Facebook page.

NETBALL

Dear Netball Families,

Refunds for the competition fee part of the Tamworth Netball Association Winter Competition for 2020 are heading home via cheque today. Details of the refunds are in the accompanying note. This will also include any Year 3 netball uniform money that was paid. As you can imagine, writing out a massive amount of cheques could result in errors. If you need me to fix anything up, please let me know.

A massive thank you to everyone involved in this tricky COVID netball atmosphere. Please keep an eye on the latest COVID updates on the Tamworth Netball Association Facebook page. Yes. it is one person per player on the sideline. NO, you cannot have siblings there as well, even if there are hardly any people there. The ladies in pink vests are walking around and checking, as it is a part of the COVID policy, and the only way we could have a competition. Please be kind if you get asked to move away. They are volunteers doing this for the love of netball.

The annual pizza party where we hand out trophies will not occur. Instead, I will hand out the trophies on behalf of the coaches, who will give me a little blurb to accompany the trophy. This will occur in Term 4.

Lastly, our St Nicholas Netball Club AGM will most likely occur at the end of the term or in the holidays via Zoom, in light of the new restrictions coming into place.

We are halfway through the season, so enjoy!

The season has begun with all our players turning up and enjoying the game.

All players have received information regarding Covid-19 restrictions, in particular only 1 spectator per child, please. At each game, there will be a clipboard to write your name and mobile, please look for this, thankyou.

***Kinder, Yr 1, Yr 2, Yr 3 and Yr 4 teams please note the change in the start time of 4.20 pm to alleviate the congestion of players and spectators leaving and entering the fields for the next round. See you there.
