Ellen Sawyer

Ellen Sawyer joins Scoresby Secondary College as the Head of Senior School and teacher of Year 12 English, Year 8 Humanities and Year 7 Humanities.  She has spent her past 13 years teaching at Mount Waverley Secondary College, teaching in a range of subjects and year levels. 

After completing her education in Queensland and South Australia, she and her family moved to Melbourne, where she studied at Melbourne University.  Ellen completed a Bachelor of Arts with majors in Criminology and History, before realising her love of teaching.  She then went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in English Literature and a Bachelor of Teaching, both at Melbourne University.  Mount Waverley Secondary College was her first school, fulfilling roles in both VCE student management and curriculum, as well as teaching English, Literature and History at VCE levels for over 10 years. 

Ellen is excited about the new opportunities that a smaller school offers and the potential of the Scoresby Secondary College students to achieve their best.  She is optimistic about the great things that the teachers and students can achieve when they work together.  She is also looking forward to working with the student leadership team.
