OSH Club

PROGRAM UPDATE

Hello everyone! I hope this term has been as enjoyable for you as it has for us at OSHClub! We have seen some great developments in our students already and are all excited to see the continued growth of your children’s wellbeing.

This week, our focus will be on developing communication skills and teamwork in our students, as this is a crucial part of each child’s interpersonal development. We will have a number of team building activities across a range of domains, including sports (Architects and Builders game, Poison Pinball), cooperative art tasks (drawing competition, cardboard airplane), cooking tasks (Samosas, pasta-making) and much more. We are looking forward to seeing how the students work together and will of course take lots of pictures to put in our Reflection Journal (which is available for parents to view and comment on at any time).

With new Preps starting in 2015, we would like to reinforce our processes during this transitional period. All Prep students will be escorted to the classroom in the morning and will be picked up from class in the afternoon. These students have already been assigned buddies at the program from Grade 1 who will look out for them and make their first few weeks especially fun. Similarly, we will be running a range of activities that helps new students engage with others at the program, and hopefully make a lot of new friends J

As always, we are looking for old clothes, toys, books, recyclables or even craft materials to help us learn and have new experiences. We would absolutely love donations to the program and always appreciate the thought! We had a wonderful donation last year which has really helped us improve our program!

In Term 1 and 4 OSHClub has a “no hat, no play” policy, so please make sure your children have hats when they attend the program, as they will not be able to play outside otherwise.
