Mock interviews for Year 10 students and VCAL students Thursday 18th May

All of the Year 10 students are to be congratulated on how hard they have worked in preparing for the mock interviews which are being held on Thursday 18th May. Students have completed a resume, a cover letter and job application. They have had a session on the importance of a good first impression, and had a guest speaker from our community business partner Monier give them tips on interview techniques! Students are encouraged to prepare well for the interview by researching the company and being prepared for answering questions well. At this stage we have about 28 community business partners coming in to interview the students.

Information has been sent home to families regarding both Mock interviews and Work experience (27th Nov - 8th December). The objective of work experience is to experience the world of work in an industry you are interested in pursuing in the future. Students need to be securing their work experience now by approaching businesses in career areas that interest them.

TCS- Go for IT work experience program…. INVITATION to Year 10 and Year 11 female students

Tata Consultancy Services would like to invite Carwatha students to participate in the GoIT Girls Work Experience program.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are at the forefront of innovation across the globe. However, in Australia, growth in the IT industry faces two significant challenges; a skills shortage and an under representation of women in the industry.

The TCS GoIT Girls work experience program aims to:

  • inspire students to consider a career and future studies in IT
  • provide insight into varied roles within an IT company and the business world
  • empower students to design and develop IT projects
  • complement the school curriculum

The program has four focus areas:  1.Technical IT skills,  2.Employability skills, 3.Female role models in technology and  4. Experience in the technology industry

We would like to invite your female students in year 10 and 11, aged 15-17, to participate in the Melbourne program during the following program dates:

The dates available are 3rd- 7th July (during school holidays) and 28th August to 1st September
