Week 4

Another week has been and gone! We've been busy and loving our learning.  Students are working hard on their learning goals and making great progress.

The last few weeks has seen us foucs on reading and summarising from non-fiction. Students have been exploring diagrams and pictures to explain the important information.

They have also been working on a retell from a fiction book.  This is such an important reading skills that develops their comprehension.

Writing has seen us practise persuasive text and writing conventions.  This is a great time of year to get your child writing cards and letters to family members and check for their full stops and capital letters.

In Maths we have done lots of measurement work.  We have done pre and post test assessments. Our concepts have included weight, length and capacity.  This week we have explored money and will work on this into next week.

Happy Halloween

We did have fun on Wednesday getting our Halloween on!  Our craft activities turned out rather well! Great for fine motor development.  Thanks to Abi's family for all of her invitations to the party! Thanks for the photos from Kim & Sally.  It all looked fantastic!

Kilsyth Festival

It was so lovely to see the families down at Elizabeth Bridge last Sunday! What a great fun filled day with the sun shining.  There was a buzz at the school stand with many visitors coming to check out our rock and mask painting.  A big thanks to the DAVIS family for their time in setting up the stand and packing it up - well done!
