Principal's Report

Celebration Day✨

It was fantastic to see students at school in their 'Fancy Dress' last Monday, for our Whole School Positive Behaviour Support Celebration Day.

Our "Be The Best You Can Be" Tree is half full again already! We look forward to our Colour Run Celebration Day, to celebrate students earning over 18,000 feathers this year!

Jump Disco 💃

The Term 4 Jump Disco was a huge success, as I'm sure you heard from your houses. We all enjoyed singing along to the songs (so loudly!) and dancing the sunny evening away! Thanks to Mrs Black and Miss Morton for teaching us all the Nutbush, and to all the parents who helped organise and run the event.

Foundation 2020 Information Evening🧮

Thank you to parents of 2020 Foundation students for attending our Information Evening on Tuesday. It was a great opportunity for parents to meet each other and make sure they have all the information they need to make starting school a huge success for our 2020 Foundies! Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

Thank you to Mrs Blair Blackburn and Miss Shannen May for all their preparation and organisation in setting up Foundation 2020.

👼All the Best, Mrs Blackburn!👼

As Mrs Blair Blackburn begins her maternity leave on Monday 9th December, we take this opportunity to thank her for all her wonderful and invaluable contributions to Kilsyth PS so far.

Blair, you will be incredibly missed in our school community, but we are so excited for you to begin your next adventure as a mother. Be sure to visit with your little lady when you can, and we look forward to having you back at school just as soon as you are ready.

The Amazing Race was... well... AMAZING!!

We held off on our Newsletter this week so we could include some fantastic photos and experiences of the 2019 Amazing Race!

This long held tradition at KPS is a special event for our Year 6 students to acknowledge and celebrate their growing independence and broadening skills sets.  Gathering early in the morning at Hookey Park in Mooroolbark, the students head off in teams (each with adult participant) to race their way through the city, using their wits to navigate their way through challenges with no adult input, and find their way back to Hookey Park.  It is a long and very tiring day... but an absolute belter of an adventure!

Check in on our Facebook page for more great photos of our students in action.

2020 Class Transition

Students will participate in a transition into their 2020 classes on Tuesday 10th December.  They will spend an hour with their new classmates and teacher from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.  Class lists will be posted in the library windows on this day.

A great deal of time and consideration has gone into planning the compositions of these classes.  I would like to thank all staff for their guidance as we have gone through this process.
